Republic of Texas Museum

The mission of the Republic of Texas History Center is to educate, preserve, and protect the history of the Republic of Texas for all generations. The Republic of Texas History Center (RTHC) bell tower holds the bell that once belonged to Governor Hardin Richard Runnels, elected as Texas governor in 1857. Cast in 1829, the bell still rings loud and true and was donated by Anne Freeman.
